Throughout our journey and training in the Eastern and Zen world, you have likely heard many people talk about the 7 chakras and their vital importance. Chakras are the energy centers of the body through which life force flows.
The Importance of Balance
It is essential that they are in perfect balance; only then can we feel good and comfortable with our body, mind, and environment, as well as being in harmony with the Universe. Taking care of our chakras is extremely important for our life.
The 7 Main Chakras
There are a total of 7 chakras, and all of them are located in a specific region of our body. Additionally, each one is linked to some vital aspect. They are associated with a color, and there is a specific mantra that can help activate it.
Starting from the base of the spine and reaching up to the crown, we have:
1. Root Chakra - Muladhara
Location: Base of the spine Function: It is the grounding cable, connects us to the earth and provides stability
2. Sacral Chakra - Svadhisthana
Location: Lower abdomen Function: Linked to sexuality, creativity, and emotions
3. Solar Plexus Chakra - Manipura
Location: Above the navel Function: Responsible for the mental body, self-esteem, and personal power
4. Heart Chakra - Anahata
Location: Center of the chest Function: Associated with love for others, compassion, and emotional connection
5. Throat Chakra - Vishuddha
Location: Throat Function: Related to achieving goals, communication, and expression
6. Third Eye Chakra - Ajna
Location: Between the eyebrows Function: Connects us to the world of thought, intuition, and wisdom
7. Crown Chakra - Sahasrara
Location: Crown of the head Function: Related to the spiritual, knowledge, and divine connection
Consequences of Blockage
When any of these energy centers is blocked, we lose our inner balance, which is why it is extremely important to do exercises to let energy flow through them and find well-being.
How to Keep Your Chakras in Balance
To keep your chakras in balance, you can:
- Practice meditation regularly
- Receive tantric massages that activate energy centers
- Do yoga focused on the chakras
- Use specific mantras for each chakra
- Practice conscious breathing
The alignment of the chakras is fundamental for a full, healthy life in harmony with the universe.
